Welcome to Intsomi Forest Lodge. Hidden within the malaria-free Eastern Cape is 1 000 hectares of land unique in natural diversity, unspoilt beauty, cultural heritage and historical richness. Intsomi Forest Lodge is situated on this reserve in the untouched Alexandria Forest and is a part of the greater Addo Elephant National Park. Your journey begins at the forest, passes though a scenic natural valley where indigenous antelope and zebra roam and continues up onto a grassy ridge to overlook an uninterrupted vista of beach and sky touching ocean.



Intsomi offers exceptional accommodation where attention to detail is apparent. Filled with curious artefacts and historical and cultural pieces from all over the country, these suites are a synthesis of modern convenience, styling and comfort and South African heritage. Each of the 8 luxury double suites offer beautiful bathrooms, climate control, stocked mini bars, tea and coffee making facilities, direct dial telephones and hair dryers. The reserve offers spectacular and diverse scenery and landscapes, limited wildlife and numerous bird and tree species.Wildlife includes: Buffalo, Gemsbok, Eland, Red Hartebeest, Bush Buck, the rare Oribi, zebra, duiker, jackals and Caracal. The smaller species include springhare, bush pig, Cape porcupine and aardvark.Additional activities are available and include: The Midden experience – a visit to the remains of the ancient settlement of San along the coast. The Waterboom Drive. Guided Walks and Hikes and Horse Trails.Visit the museum (still to be completed) on the reserve and trace the history of the land, its people and the surrounding area back to the 1800’s.
